The 50 highest-rated songs
The strongest drafts in the Debutle pool - ranked by in-game rating. Draft values, not a public chart.
If one of these lands on a spin, you usually take it. Pair the list with drafting tips and best eras when you are hunting a #1. These scores are for the game, not a claim about the best songs of all time.
What a rating in the nineties actually means
The scale runs from 55 to 99, but the interesting part is compressed into a narrow band at the top. Reaching the low nineties takes streaming evidence somewhere around a billion plays, or a combination of a high chart peak and heavy certification that earns a song relief from its era ceiling. Only a handful of tracks clear the mid-nineties, and above that the pipeline stops trusting itself and requires multiple independent signals to agree.
That compression is intentional. If the top fifty were spread evenly across the full range, the difference between the best song in the pool and the fiftieth would look enormous, and it is not. These are all songs where the honest answer is that they are among the biggest records ever made, separated by margins that would move if you measured them again next year.
Why this list is not a "greatest songs" list
Two things about this ranking are worth saying plainly, because they are the source of most of the mail I get.
First, the ordering leans on popularity. Streams and views dominate the top band, which means a song with enormous reach can sit above one with greater critical standing. I consider this a genuine unresolved problem rather than a defensible choice, and it is written up in full here.
Second, songs from before roughly 2010 are systematically undersold. Their streaming counts record how many people sought them out afterwards, not how big they were at the time, and no amount of adjustment recovers a decade of radio play nobody logged. Chart peaks and certifications carry some of that weight, but coverage is hand-curated and uneven.
Read it as a list of the heaviest picks available in the game, which is what it is built to be, and not as a claim about the best songs ever recorded.
